Using children as propaganda tools isn’t anything new.
One of the most haunting scenes in Cabaret is the one that takes place in the biergarten. While everyone all around him is caught up in the frenzy of a circa 1931 Hitler youth song, without saying a word one old man (who is similar in appearance to my late maternal grandfather who lived to age 100) is able to convey what those with a knowledge of history experience observing the events taking place.
